Master of Education (MEd)-Education Leadership; Principal as Instructional Leader Certification
Education Leadership (EDLD) provides a Principal Certification Program at A&M-Texarkana offering 1) a 30-hour Master’s Degree in Education Leadership, or 2) an 18-hour Principal Certification-Only program with an ongoing (3-semester) principal practicum lab. Both programs provide students with the necessary skills to become effective school administrators within today’s educational climate. Courses are delivered fully online and are supported with virtual class meetings. The program emphasizes quality interactions between the instructor and student. The format for courses is tailored to meet the demands of today’s busy professional educators and graduate students. Admission Requirements
- Graduate application and processing fee ($30 for US citizens/permanent residents) via program website
- Baccalaureate degree
- Cumulative 3.0 GPA or 3.0 GPA in the last 60 hours of an undergraduate degree program
- Official transcripts from all higher education institutions attended
- Students must apply for this certificate program through the TK20 System. Refer to the program website
- Interview with education leadership department faculty
- Letter of support from current principal (form letter provided by coordinator)
Requirements must be submitted to the Graduate Studies Office by the designated deadline of first semester of enrollment.

Students are eligible to substitute courses with advisor's written approval for requirements with evidence a graduate research and curriculum course has been completed successfully in previous degree.

Students with a graduate degree in an appropriate field may earn principal certification by taking these courses as well as meeting the research and curriculum course requirements. Transfer of no more than 9 SCH will be accepted and must have written approval by the advisor.
Students may qualify for a Probationary Certificate by taking any four approved EDAD courses.
