John F. Moss Library
Texas A&M University-Texarkana named its library in honor of the university's founding president, Dr. John F. Moss. The library is conveniently located in the center of campus on the third and fourth floors of the University Center.
The mission of the John F. Moss Library is to strengthen and enhance the library's technological tools, resources, and support services for the university and broader community in an inclusive and open environment. In support of its mission, the library will collect, preserve, and provide access to information resources in both traditional and evolving technology formats.
The Moss Library is a spacious, modern facility with large windows overlooking the campus and natural scenery. The library provides students, faculty, and community members with a variety of spaces that appeal to individual preferences, including casual seating, comfortable lounge areas, various study nooks, numerous study tables, and group or individual study rooms.
For our users’ convenience, the library provides an array of technologies and amenities. These include scanning and photocopying, robust Wi-Fi, print stations for both color and B&W printing, as well as a computer lab for assignments, research, and instruction. In addition to numerous digital databases and resources, the library both collects and maintains collections of academic books, best sellers, graphic novels, and other leisure reading.
The extensive media services collection provides equipment for students such as digital cameras, camcorders, tripods, microphones, calculators, and short-term use laptops. The library also houses the university’s archives and special collections. The university has a modest collection of art, and the library frequently exhibits art from both students and local artists.
